We currently have many projects underway.
These include:
1.  Keeping Families Together:  Please see
our (Keeping Families Page) about CoPAL's
program to help families in crisis by donating
pet supplies to area food pantries.

2. Housing assistance:  CoPAL is working
with  Neighborhood Legal Services (NLS)
program to partner animal owners with NLS
housing attorneys to provide assistance for
homeowners and renters who have
companion pets and are facing a housing
crisis.  When appropriate, CoPAL's
volunteers will assist these families with
housing kits and other help in finding
suitable pet friendly housing.

3.  Help for Seniors:  CoPAL has plans to
work with local Council on Aging  and Senior
Centers to provide support for seniors
owning pets.

4.  Help for Farm Animals:  CoPAL has plans
to help owners of farm animals obtain
supermarket unused perishable food

5.   Legislation:  CoPAL is working with our
state legislators to support a number of
proposed animal welfare laws.  These include
legislation to allow taxpayers to help fund
spay and neutering programs through a
check-off box on their local tax bills, and
allowing pet trusts.

6.   Humane Education:  CoPAL believes
strongly that humane education will prepare
our children to be compassionate and
empathetic adults.  With the marked rise in
bullying and animal abuse incidents by
young adults, such learning is timely - and
important.  (See Boston Globe editorial on
the left)
CoPAL is presently partnering with HEART, a
renowned national  organization that teaches
humane education.

7.  Animal welfare license plates:  CoPAL is
supporting the state's vanity Animal Friendly
license plate.  Look for brochures on this
program at your town offices.  Funds raised
from these plates are distributed to state
animal welfare groups.  For more information
on how to obtain your very pretty animal
friendly plate, click on this link now:
